Adobe Photoshop adds the function most requested by its users

Adobe presented a host of functions that will come to Photoshop and other applications in your Creative Cloud suite. The new features take advantage of artificial intelligence to solve problems that have plagued app users for years. Among them is one that will make it easier to remove unwanted objects from a photo.

The company took advantage of the start of its Adobe Max conference to announce all the news that will be available in Photoshop. The flagship application for editing images has integrated a function that uses AI to Locate distracting elements in a photo, such as people, cables, and other unwanted objects. With this feature, the user will be able to delete them with the push of a button.

Eliminating distractions is added as an additional feature within the Healing Brush tools. When activated, the user will be able to press a button to search for distractions and will have the option to select those they want to eliminate. By doing so, the algorithm will intelligently replace the background, similar to what generative fill does.

This function is similar to the Magic Eraser that is included in the Pixel. The difference is that Photoshop uses its language models to Precisely remove objects without leaving a trace or garbage. Additionally, this feature can be used in professional workflows, right from your computer.

Photoshop relies on Adobe Firefly AI to edit better photos

Distraction removal isn’t the only new thing coming to Photoshop. Adobe introduced updates to the Generative Fill, Generative Expansion, and Generate Background tools. These functions make use of Adobe’s Firefly Image 3 Model language model and allow you to replace a selection or background with objects or textures generated from a prompt. In the case of Generative Expansion, AI offers more precise and distortion-free results when filling the expanded space of your image.

On the other hand, Adobe has integrated Substance 3D Viewer into Photoshop to be able to view and edit 3D objects directly on the canvas. With this feature, Adobe offers a viable alternative to blended workflows, where a designer seeks to add and edit a 3D model to a 2D image without needing to switch between applications.
