However, that is not the only thing to look forward to during the evening.

It seems increasingly clear that Samsung will show a preview of its next revolutionary mobile phone, a device that can start a new era of fine mobile phones: the Galaxy S25 Slim. Although we will still have to wait for its arrival in stores, since the launch will probably not occur for a few months.

Expectations are very high with the Galaxy S25 Slim, to the point that it runs the risk of taking center stage from its range ‘brothers’. And it is no wonder, because it has the potential to be Samsung’s most innovative mobile in many years, with a very reduced thickness without accepting sacrifices in key aspects such as cameras or performance; In fact, the latest leak has to do with this last detail.

And someone has already been able to do the GeekBench test on a Galaxy S25 Slim, revealing the processor it uses and its approximate performance. According to the application log, the Galaxy S25 Slim uses a Snapdragon 8 Elitethat is, exactly the same chip that the rest of the Galaxy S25 range will probably use. In that sense, there are few surprises; The tested unit pairs the processor with 12GB of RAM, although multiple memory configurations may be available. Finally, the phone ran Android 15 with the One UI 7 customization layer.

Let’s remember that Geekbench is a ‘benchmarks’ application, which executes tasks and measures the speed with which the processor completes them. It must be clarified that these ‘benchmarks’ do not always represent the actual performance of the device in applications and games, much less if they are made in a prototype as has been the case in this case.

We say this because the results published on GeekBench can be somewhat disappointingbut they need a lot of context. Specifically, the results are 3005 points in performance with one core, and 6945 points in multi-core. These are low figures, taking into account that the Snapdragon 8 Elite is the most powerful processor available for Android and that it has proven to be capable of exceeding 9000 points in multi-core.

However, there are many possible explanations for this poor performance. We do not know the circumstances under which the test was carried out, if the mobile phone is a prototype still in development or if other tests were being carried out at the same time. Of course, we could be pessimistic and think that The reduced thickness of the mobile affects heat dissipationwhich in turn forces the processor to reduce the frequency and this affects performance; but it is too early to reach those types of conclusions, especially with a single piece of evidence like this of unknown provenance.
