WinRAR is updated and is now faster on Windows


WinRAR has received a new update which significantly improves performance on Windows 11. The developers released a new beta that includes UI adjustments and speeds up the steps to unzip a file. The changes are available in version 7.10, now available for download.

According to a publication on the official websiteWinRAR launched a new beta that improves performance on the Microsoft operating system. The developers have reduced the time needed to access WinRAR items in the context menu of Windows 11. This means that all the file compression and decompression options offered by the tool will appear faster when you right-click.

WinRAR version 7.10 beta 2 takes advantage of a new Windows update that improves File Explorer performance. A few weeks ago, Microsoft advertisement which would apply changes to reduce the latency of the Windows 11 context menu. The technology company has worked in recent months to resolve the performance problems left by the 23H2 update released at the end of 2023.

Other new features that come in the most recent version of WinRAR have to do with dark mode. After years of requests, the developers added an option to modify the user interface that would help reduce eye strain. Beta 2 changes the nomenclature of this section in the user interface (it is now called Color Mode) and resolves some issues reported by users.

Finally, export of configurations has been improvedwhich no longer activates the Windows 11 User Account Control (UAC) alert, as well as an option that makes it easier to install WinRAR on a disk without a fixed drive letter, such as USB flash drives.
